Support the Friends' Book Sales
You can support the library by donating or purchasing books.
Donate Books
The library always accepts and greatly appreciates donations of gently used books, videos and audio-books. These items will either be put into the collection or sold in the Friends of the Library Book Sales. The money raised at the book sales goes to the Friends who then donate it to the library.
Some items often do not sell and recycling through Gateway (located in Berrien Springs) is a better option for these items than donation. These include most magazines and all Reader's Digest Condensed Books.
You may bring donations to the library at anytime. If you bring donations before noon on a weekday, we will often have someone available to help you bring the items into the library. If you have a large donation we may be able to arrange for pick-up at your home.
Donation of books and other items to the library is tax-deductible. We can provide you with a dated receipt indicating what was donated on the day your donate your items. We do not place a dollar value on the items. We do not keep record of these donations and cannot provide copy of receipts.
Purchase Books
Buy books at a great price and support the library! Talk about win-win situation! The Friends Book Sale is located in the basement of the library. It is open from 10:00am to Noon on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. In addition, twice a year, the library holds books sales with special pricing for our Friends. These sales are held at the library on the Saturday of National Library Week and the Saturday of Apple Festival. And most years we have a Super Book Sale on Super Bowl Sunday. See the library's calendar for exact book sale dates and times.
