Establish a memorial fund for a loved one, make a bequest or name the library as a beneficiary. Donations may be made to Niles District Library, Friends of Niles District Library or Niles District Library Endowment Fund which is held by Michigan Gateway Community Foundation.

Memorials

The library deeply appreciates the families who think of the library as they mourn the loss of a loved ones and ask their friends and family to make a donation in lieu of flowers.  The deceased is memorialized through a book that is shelved in a special area of the library.

The library sends a designated family member notification of each donation made in honor of their loved one.  We also send each donor a thank you note.

Establishing a memorial is easy.  While we are happy to help, it isn't even necessary to contact the library.  Simply let your family and friends know of your wishes.

Donations may be made to Niles District Library (make check payable to Niles District Library), the Friends of Niles District Library (make check payable to Friends of Niles District Library) or Niles District Library Endowment Fund which is held by Michigan Gateway Community Foundation (make check payable to Michigan Gateway Community Foundation with Niles District Library Endowment Fund in the memo line). Bequests

People from every walk of life create meaningful legacies through bequests.  Your estate planner can help you draft a will that will benefit the library and make a lasting difference in your community.  The Library Director is always available to discuss your needs and wishes.

While bequests may be made to Niles District Library, the Friends of Niles District Library, the best way to make a lasting gift is to make donations to the Niles District Library Endowment Fund which is held by Michigan Gateway Community Foundation.
