Get a Michicard to Borrow From Hundreds of Michigan Libraries
If you have a Niles District Library card, you can also get a Michicard. Just ask at the front desk.

A MichiCard opens the door to hundreds of libraries in Michigan. Click here to see the full list of participating libraries.
The
MichiCard project began with Michigan public libraries in 1990. In 1994, academic libraries were added to
the program. In 2000, all other types of libraries were invited to
participate in creating a state-wide library card.
Getting and Using Your MichiCard
- Get your Niles District Library card (or a library card from your home library if you live outside the district)
- Ask for a MichiCard at the front desk at NDL
- MichiCard cardholders must register at each library that they use.
- MichiCard cardholders will not be charged a non-resident fee when borrowing books from participating libraries.
- Printed materials will be made available to MichiCard borrowers. Local library policies may permit the loaning of other types of materials to non-residents. (At NDL we allow MichiCard borrowers who live outside our district to borrow printed materials only.)
NOTE: Some libraries limit the types of items that MichCard holders can borrow. At Niles District Library we allow MichiCard holders from outside our district to borrow books, but not audio books or videos.
