Information and Reader’s Services Manager
Niles District Library is seeking a knowledgeable individual to manage all aspects of our traditional library services for adults. The IRS Manager is responsible for coordinating reference service, readers’ advisory, public access computer services and collection development and maintenance. The IRS Manager is a member of the Adult Services Team. He (or she) can find the right book for any reader. He loves the process of searching for information whether its minutia or metaphysical. He sets the standard of excellence in reference service for the Adult Services Team and for the whole library. He takes pride in developing our collection of materials to meet the information and reading needs of our community.
Our busy library won the 2015 Michigan State Librarian’s Excellence Award. We provide access and guidance to resources that inform, entertain and enrich. We are committed to building a community of lifelong learners who want to make Niles their lifelong home.
Applicants should have four years of relevant work experience in a library setting or a bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field at the time of hire. Preferred qualifications include Masters of Library Science from a library school accredited by the American Library Association and two years of supervisory experience.
This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) with excellent benefits including paid vacation, sick leave, health insurance, life insurance and defined benefit retirement plan. Starting hourly range is $12.75—$17.50 depending on qualifications and experience.

Youth Services Team Member
We are looking for someone who enjoys spending time with toddlers, tweens and teens. She (or he) can turn a child’s momentary curiosity into a valuable teaching moment. She needs to be a multi-tasker who is detail and task oriented. She has a creative bent and can turn a popsicle stick and some construction paper into a Valentine, an American flag, or a reindeer depending on the time of year. She knows Corduroy, Clifford, Hermione, Katniss, Percy, and Ramona, and she knows where to find them all on the library’s shelves.

We are committed to building a community of lifelong learners who want to make Niles their lifelong home. Patrons check-out almost 60,000 children and teen books each year. Each month, over a thousand children attend programs such as Storytime, Passport Pals, Book Club, Garden Club, Chess Club and many more.
This is a part-time position; 20-25 hours per week. Regular part-time employees receive ½ holiday pay and 22.5 hours of paid-time-off annually. Hourly rate starts at $10.75 – $12.25, depending on qualifications. To apply, send resume to email@example.com
