Spring Computer Classes
This spring, Niles District Library will be offering several classes on computer basics, as well as using the Internet and some of the popular programs from Microsoft Office and Google. To register for one or more of the classes, please call 269-683-8545 x112, email CommunityEngagement@nileslibrary.net, or stop by the Information Desk at the library to sign up. Classes are free and open to teens and adults.
Classes will be held in the Computer Lab on the main level of the library before and after regular library hours on Fridays.
Morning classes: 8:30-10:00 am (Please enter via the side door near the handicap parking spots since these classes will be held before the library opens)
Evening classes: 6:00-7:30 pm (Please arrive before the doors are locked at 6:00 pm)
March 10 – Computer Basics
Introductory class on hardware, Windows operating system, and standard computer terminology.
March 17 – Introduction to the Internet
Learn to use different Internet browsers and get tips on searching for information and navigating the Internet.
March 24 – Social Media
An introduction to using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube.
March 31 – Microsoft Word
Learn how to use Word to write, edit, and format documents for school, work, or personal use.
April 7 – Microsoft Publisher
Learn how to create professional looking flyers, brochures, and newsletters.
April 14 – Microsoft Excel
Learn how to create spreadsheets for budgets, mailing lists, or other data management projects.
April 28 – “The Cloud”
Learn how to use Google apps, including Google Drive, Google Docs, and Gmail. Learn how to save and access files in “The Cloud”.
